Xin Nian Kuai Le!
I hope everybody has a wonderful new year, filled with prosperity, in every aspect of the word. May all your tummies be blessed with glorious food & grow to the absolute potential it may become.
Chinese New Year Eve has definitely got to be my favorite time of the year, we started off with yee sang; which confused me because, being the wonderful mixed chinese person I am, I thought the dish was only served during Chap Goh Mei, (probably spelt wrong, again) but oh well - if I get to eat it twice, does that mean I get double the long life? :P
Moving on to the main course, there were about 12 different dishes, ranging from yam & pork, to sotong belacan (don't ask) allllll the way to butter prawns :3 the most amazing meal, EVER. I think I'll be putting on weight over the one week break, cause all I ever seem to do is eat & eat & eat. teehee.
To add a little pinoy flair to the dinner, we concluded with pastillas & leche plan.
OH I LOVE BEING MIX RACED.
Omnomnomnomnomnomnomnom.
The night went on and then, it was FIREWORKS TIME! The happiest moment of my life. I love love love love love fireworks, if you gave me a choice between clubbing & just sitting on the lawn watching fireworks light up the sky, i'd choose the latter. Any day, anytime.
After everything ended, I went to Salim to meet up with the guys to watch Manchester United play Arsenal. And as expected, United won :) yayers. best first day of CNY, EVER.
Today, I went for breakfast at Dynasty, Promenade Hotel with my family. Where I got asked to marry a chinese guy, because... Well just because, they said it "suited me". Well no, it wasn't exactly so well put it was more like:
"Si francine kahwin orang apa this?"
"Mesti kahwin orang cina. Memang dia punya style tu."
"Oh, bah bah! NGAM LA THAT."
... Just a reminder, i'm frickin 18, I'm not going to get married any time soon, I enjoy collecting my ang pau's, thank you very much.
Sigh, family.
:P
Then I went out with Tim, & after that - I had a dinner/tea thing at my uncle's house. I absolutely miss living at the peak, I miss air-conditioned houses & not having to worry if the side grills of my house are closed and locked.
Which actually reminds me, I really honestly want to live in an apartment, a studio apartment would be more than perfect :) Or just any apartment really.
After that, another dinner.
Around 9:30 my syg picked me up, and we went to upper star to meet up with Tim's friends :) woot. And now i'm back home, snuggled under my blankets & surrounded by a fort of pillows.
Absolute bliss.
Maybe I should go to sleep, cause I'm falling asleep while writing this. I'll post pictures of recent events here soon :)
Goodnight, lovelies <3
Have a wonderful holiday,
party hard,
work not so hard,
& eat tons!
Love,
F
PS: Eric, if you're reading this - I'll write your dedication post soon, like.. Tomorrow morning! :)
